We also offer a ‘supply only’ service for paint, fabric and wallpaper. Or perhaps you require ‘supply only’ of key pieces such as a rug, cabinet, lighting, sofa or dining table and chairs.

Whether you have a traditional property or contemporary new-build, we can tailor our service to create an environment that perfectly fits your lifestyle – within your desired timescale and budget. We work with a trusted and dependable network of handpicked suppliers, including traditionally trained decorators and upholsterers as well as furniture and cabinet-makers, so you receive a real continuity of quality running through everything we produce.

Every project is expertly managed from start to finish, so you can sit back and relax. We can work from plans only, or visit you on-site. We’ll fulfil your creative brief by really listening to you, discovering what your tastes are and what you want to achieve.

With a detailed plan of how to make the most of your space, we can integrate stylish storage solutions or source show-stopping pieces. We can carefully consider lighting to create the right kind of mood. We bring style and functionality to the table, creating spaces to be lived in and not just looked at.

soft furnishings.

Together with our talented seamstresses, using our extensive collection of fabrics, we create stunning cushions, made-to-measure curtains and blinds, bed valances and throws. Hand-sewn for the most intricate designs, or machine sewn for tighter budgets – we have you covered. And we take on jobs of all scales, encompassing the smallest pair of curtains - to multiple rooms of any size.

Perhaps you can’t find precisely what you’re looking for – maybe you’re not sure exactly what it is that you want. Or it could be that you are simply too busy to shop around. So let us do it all for you.

We are well connected and well informed, experienced in sourcing all aspects of an interior, complemented by our collections of wonderful fabrics, wall coverings, furniture and accessories. We’ll handle the ordering and delivery, and recommend the ideal position for them if necessary.

styling & dressing.

You can have the best of everything, but if it’s not in the right arrangement it will never look ‘right’. We really understand this and have a great sense of how to complete the look of your home – to make it feel as homely as possible and somewhere to be proud of. Or perhaps you’re struggling to rent out your holiday property and need your interiors revamp to ignite more interest and a greater return on your investment?

Delivery of items

For furniture, we recommend our White Glove Delivery Service where possible for a value-added, hassle-free experience.

For paint, wallpapers, fabrics, lighting and rugs, we recommend delivery to your home address or that of your upholsterer, decorator or chosen seamstress.

Installation of Soft Furnishings

Our fitter offers our standard installation service; fitting of curtains and blinds, including tracks and poles. Should you require us to dress your soft furnishings, this is available at a pre-agreed rate and includes dressing of curtains, placing of cushions, rugs, lighting, furniture layout – whatever the project requires.

Alternatively, items can be collected from our Studio.

traditional upholstery.

Skilled craftspeople can be found at the heart of Canonbury Interiors – it’s what makes our end product feel and look so special. Our collection of upholstered furniture is a prime example of this: traditional techniques used to great effect using a broad spectrum of designer fabrics. We work with a number of upholstered furniture suppliers including: Charlotte James, Kingcome, Designers Guild, George Smith, Julian Chichester and Heal’s to name a few.

Three steps we follow with every project to ensure the most imaginative designs are created with the smoothest of deliveries.

Concept

We’ll review architectural drawings or arrange a visit to gain a feel for the property, as well as building up a clear picture of your aspirations. We’ll add to your inspiration with some observations and recommendations, answer any questions you have, and guide you through the rest of the process.

Visualisation

With a brief now firmly established, we’ll invite you to our Highland studio to talk you through our initial ideas. It’s from this relaxed setting that we’ll introduce you to our samples, accessories and furniture layout examples in order to firm up the details. We’ll show you mood boards, room plans, drawings and colour schemes to convey our thinking and provide an estimate of costs.

Implementation

Once the estimated costs have been agreed, we’ll order everything and instruct our craftspeople. We’ll liaise with all suppliers and will always keep you informed of progress. Depending on the level of service you require, we can put everything in position ready for you to enter into your new, transformed space.

faqs.

Do you create a particular type of style?
No. All of our work develops organically in communication with the client. We’ll interpret your vision and create your own unique style.

Do I need to provide you with a detailed design brief?
An informal chat is all we need to develop an understanding of what you’re looking for, and the amount of detail you give us is entirely up to you. If you have a very clear idea of what you want – great. But it’s no problem if you don’t. We will provide you with plenty of ideas, suggestions and guidance along the way.

What if my vision for what I want changes during the project?
That’s ok. We’ll advise you in advance of any cost and time implications and make a collective decision on how best to proceed before further work is carried out.

Do you work on commercial properties?
We specialise in residential homes, holiday homes and private guest houses, rather than commercial properties.

Can you provide your interior design service to me remotely?
Yes, we have a well established system which we’ve used for years, which works well for those living further afield, or are too busy to visit our Studio.

Do you work on restoration projects?
We do help clients with restoration projects. We can supply soft furnishings and recommend craftspeople who specialise in traditional reupholstery or joinery work.

Can you deal with any tradespeople required?
Because we work independently, we deal with lots of different tradespeople and architects.

Will I be able to see how the final design will look before work starts?
During the concept stage, you’ll receive a schedule for your project, including images of each element. This will be combined with samples of fabrics, wallcoverings and furniture finishes for you to consider at our Studio or from home.

Can you source individual pieces for me?
Absolutely, we can supply anything from wallpaper or paint, to a rug, footstool, sofa, kitchen table or cabinet.
